New Renaissance Ink (NRInk) presents the Let's Write for a Change (LWC) Initiative 2015
Read. Write. Capture life. Speak life. Change a life.
The Write on Time Project
Ages: 15 - 21 years old
Submission Deadline: 31 July 2015
The 2015 Let’s Write for a Change Initiative will be dedicated to furthering the mentoring process and promoting literacy within the local Rome, Georgia community and beyond. The LWC 2015 Initiative, The Write on Time Project will encourage young writers learn more about how to write, market, and sell books, while helping them to learn about the publishing business and the writing and publication process.
This effort will include education and insight on submissions, acceptance, advances, editing, marketing, publicity, publication, distribution, and any other information we can share.
We are looking for a maximum of 10 contributing authors for this project. If your submission is accepted, each contributor will be paid an advance of $100, and then paid royalties of 40% on the sale of each book, minus your initial $100 advance. The 40% royalties will be split equally between the contributors.
For example, if 10 writers are contributing authors to this project, and the book is sold for $10, the author royalty of $4 will be split between all 10 authors equally. That means that each author will receive 40 cents for each book sold. If only 5 writers contribute, then each author will receive 80 cents for each book sold.
Of the remaining profits, 40% will go to a selected charity (TBD), and 20% will go back into business costs. Clearly, this is not a "get rich" book project.
This project will not only give young writers the opportunity to learn about the publishing business, and to be published and to make money, it will also help you to gain exposure for your work, support literacy within the community, and help support the selected charity upon which all of the contributing authors will collectively decide. Equally important, projects like this one will continue to give credibility and exposure to New Renaissance Ink, LLC, and to its future authors and titles.
Please reply with your interest and submissions.
In the SUBJECT line, please include the words, “2015 LWC ~ Write on Time Project.”
We will be accepting submissions from participants within the age range of 15-21 years old.
Submission deadline: Midnight (Eastern) 31 July 2015 .
Target publication date: December 2015.
Depending on interested candidates, we will prepare contracts for each writer (and parents, if writers are under 18) to sign. For that reason, please be prepared to provide the following information, either with your submission, or after we have invited you to include your work as a part of this project.

We hope that being a part of this project will help young female writers to prepare for your purpose and to pursue that purpose with professionalism.
